TN Board (Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education) established in 1910, is covered by the purview of the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, India. Up to and closing at the secondary (10 to 12 Class) level, the following streams of education are provided: the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) stream, the Anglo-Indian stream, the OSLC (Oriental School Leaving Certificate) stream and the Matriculation stream. And for higher secondary (11 and 12 class) there is single combined stream leading to the award of the HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate). The Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination decides candidates progress by controlling two board exams one at the end of 10th class and the other at the end of 12th class.
